Kelsey Hall Classic will benefit Excellence in
Agriculture Memorial Scholarship
Feb. 19, 2009 --
The
Second Annual Kelsey Hall Classic, which benefits the Kelsey Hall Excellence
in Agriculture Memorial Scholarship at Arkansas State University, will
be held at RidgePointe Country Club on Saturday, March 7.
Kelsey Hall, who died in June 2007, farmed in the Valley View community.
A longtime member of the Craighead County Farm Bureau, he and his family
were named the 1993 Craighead County Farm Family of the Year. Hall was
named the 2006 Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce Farmer of the
Year, was a former board member of the Craighead County Co-Op and the
Community Leadership Board of Mercantile Bank.
The tennis tournament, which consists of doubles tennis in a round-robin
format, will start at 5 p.m. In addition to the tournament, a social
will begin at 6 p.m. in the 19th Hole with food and drinks.
The entry fee of $125 includes the tennis fee and social for one person,
as well as an official Kelsey Hall Classic t-shirt. Admission to the
social is $75 per person.
The Kelsey Hall Excellence in Agriculture Memorial Scholarship is
awarded to students majoring in agricultural business at ASU.
