KASU offers 'The Parent's Journal,' with Bobbi Connor as part of new format changes

June 30, 2009 -- The Parent's Journal with Bobbi Conner is a weekly national radio series for parents, care-givers, educators, and others who care for children.

This is not a program that dispenses "quick-fix" solutions, or one-size-fits-all parenting advice, but rather a program that is designed to help parents understand their own individual child, and encourage that child's physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.

Our program shares information from renowned authors, leading child psychologists, child development experts, and real parents.

Each week, host Bobbi Conner and nationally acclaimed guests discuss a variety of contemporary parenting issues such as childhood sleep problems, temper tantrums, sibling squabbles, friendship skills, setting limits, childcare, and homework hassles.

From the practical to the profound, the lively discussions heard on The Parent's Journal help moms and dads everywhere respond to the everyday ups and downs of raising a child in today's world.

Bobbi Conner is the creator and host of the award-winning syndicated radio program, The Parent's Journal, broadcast for an hour each week, nationwide since 1986, on public radio stations.  Conner is known for her in-depth interviews about child-development and parenting topics. Her program, books, and articles have been featured in Newsweek, Parade, USA Today, The Washington Post, Redbook, Parents, Woman's Day, Child, and Good Morning America.

Bobbi Conner is the author of
"Unplugged Play," "Everyday Opportunities for Extraordinary Parenting," and "The Book of Birthday Letters." Conner is the mother of three children, and she lives in Mount Pleasant, S. C.
