Department of Music to present The
Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse
 

March 16, 2007 -- The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present The Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse in the Student Union Auditorium on Monday, March 26, at 5 p.m. Prior to the performance, members of the group will conduct a French horn master class at 3:30 p.m.

The concert will include selections from the following: Johann Sebastian Bach, Fugue in A Minor; Claude Debussy, Le Petit Negre; Robert Dickow, Entrance Fanfare; Herman Jeurissen, Lustige Streiche; John Lennon/Paul McCartney, Eleanor Rigby; Kazimierz Machala, Intuitions for Horn Quartet; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Overture to the Marriage of Figaro; Johann Strauss, Overture from Die Fledermaus; Peter Tchesnokov, Salvation Is Created; Kerry Turner, Quartet 1.

The Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse is an elite horn quartet. Started in 1997 as a student quartet at the University of Southern Mississippi, the group has improved and evolved into a widely renowned chamber ensemble. This season the quartet is taking their show to a total of 13 states. The members of the group include: Audrey J. Good, Paul Blackstone, Tony L. Licata Jr., and Gerald (Gerry) Wood.
