ASU Foundation art auction set for April 11 at Cooper Alumni Center

March 20, 2009 -- For a fifth year, Drs. Calin and Mihaela Savu will host an art auction in support of the Arkansas State University Foundation at the Cooper Alumni Center, 2600 Alumni Blvd., at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 11.

Artworks up for silent and live auction have been donated by ASU art students, faculty and emeriti faculty, as well as by local artists. Proceeds from the event benefit scholarships within the ASU College of Fine Arts.

The event’s auctioneer is Tom Roades and entertainment will be provided by the band Slow Motion Walter.

Local artists donating works for the event include Dan Reeves, Pam Myrose, Roger Carlisle, Sean Shrum, Susan Adams, Dale Case, Karla Keller, Nanci Zimmer, Evan Lindquist, Eileen Bristol, Mihaela Savu, Beth Snodgrass, Jan Troutt, Piero Trimarchi, Sara Trimarchi, Paula Wewers, Nicole Davis, Jerry Brackett, Hal White and Janice Cranford. Additionally, ASU faculty members Neil Matthiessen, Shelley Gipson, Tom Chaffee, Roger Carlisle, Kim Vickrey, Gayle Pendergrass, Bill Rowe and Curtis Steele, along with ASU art students, will be donating items for auction.
