April 10, 2007 -- Six faculty members who are retiring this academic year were recognized today during the annual Faculty Honors Convocation for their longtime service to Arkansas State University. Five of the six have taught at ASU for 10 years or more, and therefore were named to emeritus status in recognition of their longtime service and contributions. An individual tribute to each one was presented, highlighting the retiree’s accomplishments. Those with 10 years or more of service also received a certificate of emeritus status. Those recognized and their lengths of service at ASU were: - - Dr. Cindy Albright, associate professor of physical education in the College of Education, 30 years. - - Dr. William Crumpton, associate professor of technology in the College of Engineering, 26 years. - - Dr. George Grant, dean of library and information resources, Dean B. Ellis Library, 4 years. - - Dr. James Greenwald, associate professor of history in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, 34 years. - - Dr. Jerry Linnstaedter, professor of mathematics and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Sciences and Mathematics, 38 years. - - Dr. Dennis White, associate professor of
communication studies and chair of the Department of Communication
