June 1, 2006 -- Dr. Wayne Narey, English, and Dr. Karen Yanowitz, Psychology, have been selected to serve as Faculty Fellows for the academic year 2006-07. Dr. Narey joined the faculty in 1990 and is an associate professor of English in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Dr. Yanowitz came to ASU in 1996 and is associate professor of psychology in the College of Education.

Both professors will have a six-hour reassignment per semester to assist in the development of a Faculty Center (to be named later). The main focus and mission of the center will be to assist and support ASU faculty members in their teaching and instruction to improve student learning.

This initiative is sponsored and supported by the Office of Research and Academic Affairs. The Faculty Fellows will work with Dr. Don Maness, special assistant to the VCRAA for instructional innovation, as the center becomes operational this fall. Work will be conducted over the summer months to have some services and resources available for the ASU faculty this fall.
