Faculty Advisor Award presented
to College of Business instructor

Arkansas State University began a new program this year to recognize the work that faculty members do to assist students with achieving their goals.

The first recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award is Clint Relyea, instructor in management and coordinator of international programs in the College of Business.

Relyea was recognized by his peers during the Faculty Honors Convocation.  The selection committee considered 14 nominees on the basis of several criteria, especially their caring and helpful attitude toward student advisees and their availability to both students and their faculty and staff colleagues.

            The nominator wrote that Relyea's file is "filled to overflowing with letters from students whose lives that he has changed forever.  As a teacher and as an advisor, Clint has the incredible ability to communicate how much he cares, to each and every student."

            Many students need help with meeting the new challenges they face in higher education.  Relyea received the award because of his dedication and concern toward helping students with new challenges they face as they pursue their education.

A member of the faculty since 1999, Relyea completed his bachelor's degree in management, human resources, and his master's in business administration at ASU.  He has completed additional graduate work in business and is a candidate for the doctoral degree in educational leadership at ASU.
