District FFA Career Development Day
to be held on campus March 30

March 16, 2005--The 2005 northeast Arkansas district FFA Career Development Day will be held Wednesday, March 30, at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

Career Development Day will kickoff at the Convocation Center with a morning “welcoming session” opened by ASU President Dr. Les Wyatt. Then students will participate in one or several of the 12 events taking place across the campus from the Convocation Center or the ASU Farm to the Pavilion or Agriculture Building.

Competitions include: agricultural mechanization, agricultural electrification, agronomy, dairy foods, farm business management, floriculture, forestry, land judging, livestock judging, meats, nursery/landscaping, and poultry.
            “Each year, the faculty from the College of Agriculture, students and individuals throughout the community spend countless hours with their expertise to help coordinate this Career Development Day and to help with securing donations to make it happen,” said Dr. Kevin Humphrey, assistant professor of agricultural education.

Last year, 61 schools with more than 1,400 students attended the district Career Development Day on the ASU campus.
