Fowler Center Series presents Larry
Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers
Nov. 27, 2007 --
Arkansas State University’s Fowler Center Series continues on
Monday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m., when Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers
present a combination of seasonal favorites and many of their hit tunes
in Riceland Hall, Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro. This
concert is the third of four concerts in the Riceland Distinguished
Performance Series.
More than 50 years ago, Larry, Steve, and Rudy Gatlin started singing in
their hometown of Abilene, Texas, and from there went on to make music
history, going from dusty Texas stages to White House performances, from
Broadway to the Grammy Awards, and to the top of the country charts.
Their hits include “Denver,” “Houston (Means I'm One Day Closer To
You),” “The Midnight Choir,” “She Used To Be Somebody’s Baby,” “Don't
Want To Cry,” and Larry Gatlin’s “All The Gold In California.”
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the Gatlin Brothers lit up major
marquees and packed concert halls across America. Now, back on the road
again, they are bringing their Christmas show to Riceland Hall. Gatlin
Brothers’ concerts have been called magical events, marked by their
incredible family harmonies, consummate professionalism in performance,
and pure enjoyment for both performers and audience. From their teenaged
years when they recorded their first religious album for the independent
Sword and Shield label, to their frequent performances in Branson, the
Gatlin Brothers still love to sing together.
Tickets for all Fowler Center Series events may be purchased by calling
