Fowler Center Series presents Arkansas Symphony Orchestra in season finale

April 9, 2008 -- Arkansas State University presents the final performance in this year’s Fowler Center Series, when the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro David Itkin, performs on Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. in Riceland Hall, Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro.

Consistently one of the most popular and best-attended events in Riceland Hall, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (ASO) returns, taking its traditional position as the final concert in the 2007-2008 Fowler Center series. This year, the symphony is bringing two of the all-time favorites from the classical repertoire – Beethoven’s majestic Symphony No. 3, the “Eroica,” and the wonderful “Barber of Seville Overture” by Rossini. In addition, the ASO will present Ravel’s gypsy violin-inspired “Tzigane” and Sarasate’s “Carmen Fantasy.” The ASO’s performance is the final performance in the Riceland Distinguished Performance Series.
