Fowler Center Series presents Arkansas Symphony Orchestra in season finale

April 9, 2008 -- Arkansas State University presents the final performance in this year’s Fowler Center Series, when the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, conducted byMaestro David Itkin conducts the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, who will perform in the final concert of ASU's Fowler Center Series, Sunday, April 27. Maestro David Itkin, performs on Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. in Riceland Hall, Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro.

Consistently one of the most popular and best-attended events in Riceland Hall, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (ASO) returns, taking its traditional position as the final concert in the 2007-2008 Fowler Center series. This year, the symphony is bringing two of the all-time favorites from the classical repertoire – Beethoven’s majestic Symphony No. 3, the “Eroica,” and the wonderful “Barber of Seville Overture” by Rossini. In addition, the ASO will present Ravel’s gypsy violin-inspired “Tzigane” and Sarasate’s “Carmen Fantasy.” The ASO’s performance is the final performance in the Riceland Distinguished Performance Series.

Ticket prices are $30 and $20 for adults; $23 and $15 for ASU faculty and staff,
senior adults, and K-12 students; and $10 and $6 for ASU students. Tickets are available at ASU’s Central Box Office (http://tickets.astate.edu) or by calling 972-2781.
