Freshmen, sophomores encouraged to enter "Entrepreneurship Idol" contest

Feb. 24, 2010 -- Freshmen and sophomores at Arkansas State University are eligible to enter the “Who’s Your Entrepreneurship Idol?” contest, sponsored by the Department of Marketing and Management.

Essays and visual submissions are due Wednesday, March 10, at 5 p.m. in the Management and Marketing Office, College of Business, Room 403.

Prizes of $100, $50, and $25 to the top three nominations will be awarded by a panel of judges per each category. Winners will be announced Wednesday, March 17.

The two categories include essay, which is up to 500 words, typed a double-spaced, to provide convincing arguments about why the nominated Entrepreneurship Idol deserves to win. These arguments may include facts about what the nominee created, invented, provided services for, products or advancements in society.

The second category is visual which includes the creation of posters or videos, no longer than one minute in length, which expresses ideas about the creations and actions contributed by the nominee.

Potential Entrepreneurship Idol nominees may include historical figures to current personalities. The aim of the contest is to identify the person who has made an impact in society, community, or on people’s lives.
