Enrollment Management, Feb. 11, Draft Report

The Enrollment Management Committee (EMC) members are scattered amongst the various Strategic Planning Task Forces.  The committee members have emailed suggestions to EMC chair Greg Thornburg throughout this planning process.  Thornburg has begun incorporating those suggestions into a very early draft of an Enrollment Management Plan.

The student survey conducted during the 2003 fall semester provided valuable insight from current students, who identified some aspects of ASU that, in their opinion, hindered enrollment growth.  The students also offered many suggestions for improving student satisfaction and enhancing enrollment growth.  These insights and suggestions are part of the early draft of the EM plan.

The early draft also contains research information gathered from Noel-Levitz publications and various papers published by leading enrollment management experts in the industry.  The data and information gathered is not specific to ASU, but general in nature.  However, the efforts of these other schools give us a deeper insight into managing our own enrollment.

The EMC is using a schedule that will allow the building of the EM plan following the work of the Strategic Planning Council.  Once the Council has solidified a strategic plan, the EMC will use that to construct the EM plan.  The ASU Office of Admissions will then build an recruitment strategy to implement the recruitment aspects of the EM plan.  We hope that other units on campus will also embrace the EM plan and implement actions in their departments that will support this endeavor.
