Latest edition of Renaissance Culture
journal focuses on 'art and literature'

Feb. 7, 2007 -- The Department of English and Philosophy and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Arkansas State University have announced the publication of the most recent issue of "Explorations in Renaissance Culture."

Co-sponsored by the South-Central Renaissance Association, this bi-annual journal takes an interdisciplinary approach involving literature and languages, music, and art to Renaissance studies.

The Winter 2006 issue (Volume 32, Number 2) focuses on "Art and Literature." Guest Editor Norman Land of the University of Missouri has brought together several essays from scholars in art history and literary studies from such institutions as Goucher College, Wofford College, and Rosemont College.

Bruce Cole, Chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities, has contributed an appreciation of the work of Andrew Ladis, an art historian from the University of Georgia to whom the issue is dedicated.

The issue is lavishly illustrated with reproductions of art works from the Renaissance, which the authors treat in their articles.

Frances Malpezzi, professor of English at ASU, edits "Explorations for Renaissance Culture." She is assisted by Joseph Bynum, editorial assistant, William Clements, production editor, and a board of internationally known associate editors. The ASU Printshop prints the journal.
