Department of Music presents Student Honors Recital April 7

April 1, 2008 -- The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present  its annual Student Honors Recital on Monday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall, Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro. Students are selected to perform in the recital by a panel of judges representing the music faculty.

Students performing on this year’s recital are: Chaz Allen, piano and composition, of Springdale; Nickolas Alsup, piano, of Harrisburg; Renee Porter, soprano, of Houston, Texas; Claire Richardson, alto saxophone, of Jonesboro; Janet Rooney, marimba, of Trumann; Matthew Ryals, guitar, of Imboden; and Jonathan Shields, tenor, of Osceola.

Accompanists for the recital are Joy Sanford and Dr. Lauren Schack Clark.

The students will present works by Keiko Abe, Chaz Allen, Luigi Arditi, Samuel Barber, Fredric Chopin, David Gillingham, Giacomo Rossini, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.
