Deadline is Oct. 5 for entering
Delta National Small Prints Exhibition
Oct. 1, 2007 --The deadline for entries into the 2008 Delta National Small
Prints Exhibition is Friday, Oct. 5, 2007. The exhibition, held annually
in the Bradbury Gallery at Arkansas State University, was
founded in 1996 by ASU professor of art Evan Lindquist.
Any artist over the age of 18 years who is living and working
in the United States is eligible to enter the competition. The original
prints must have been completed in the past two years and consist of
works on paper, including digital, intaglio, lithographic, photographic,
relief, silkscreen, and stencil processes. Monoprints are also eligible.
Reproductions of pre-existing works of art are not eligible.
“Each year a
nationally known expert in the field of printmaking is invited to select
the works of art for that exhibition and to determine which works will
receive awards, including purchase prizes,” announced Les Christensen,
director of the Bradbury Gallery. “The juror for this year is Marjorie
Devon, director of the renowned Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, N. M.”
The Delta
National Small Prints Exhibition has received great acclaim as it has
grown to be one of the country’s foremost annual competitions for
prints. The 2008
Delta National Small Prints Exhibition will open on Thursday, Jan. 17
and run through Sunday, Feb. 17. A
full-color catalog of each work included in the exhibition will be
available.
