Piggott, May 31, 2005 – WANTED: Aspiring writers from grades 8 through 12. The third annual Creative Writing Day Camp will be held at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC), 1021 West Cherry Street, Piggott, Ark., on Monday through Wednesday, June 20-22, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Dr. Robert Lamm, Arkansas State University, and Donna James, Sloan Hendrix High School, will lead the Day Camp. Both have long been associated with the NEA Writing Project and the Arkansas Anthology, a publication of Arkansas students’ writing. Deanna Webster, Education Coordinator, HPMEC, is the program director. Each participant will receive a spiral-bound collection of the groups’ writing, produced on the property were Ernest Hemingway wrote portions of A Farewell to Arms, “A Day’s Wait” and many other short stories.
