Delta Center for Economic Development presents professional class in marketing

Nov. 7, 2008 -- The Delta Center for Economic Development at Arkansas State University is offering an Advanced Sales Management Skills class, Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 5501 Krueger Drive.  Advanced Sales Management, part of the DCED’s professional sales certificate program, is a course specifically designed to help sales managers and executives prepare their sales forces for changing environments.

The course integrates current research and hands-on experience, as well as proven practices to develop strategies that help maximize an organization’s potential.

These practices include territory design, which addresses assignment to territories to ensure balanced workloads,
fair earning opportunities, and maximum coverage of target accounts; incentive compensation, or balancing objectives so the incentive compensation plan drives company strategy, yet is motivational, fair, and financially responsible; and selection and retention which provides a way to find the best measure of success and makes adjustments if goals are not met.

The session is taught by Dr. Shane Hunt, who is an assistant professor of marketing at ASU.  Dr. Hunt is a leading academic and consultant in the area of professional selling and sales management.

The cost is $199 for the session which includes materials and lunch. Space is limited; to enroll, call 870-972-3850.
