Homecoming activities set by academic colleges

Sept. 10 --  The Arkansas State University Alumni Association announces a number of events for ASU's Homecoming 2008, Sept. 19-20, that are being planned by various academic colleges on campus.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, the annual College of Business alumni breakfast will honor Business Executives of the Year Bill Fisher, CEO of Paragould Light, Water and Cable, and 1974 ASU alumnus Don Harmon, CEO of the Home Décor Holding Company. The breakfast will be at the Jonesboro Holiday Inn beginning at 9 a.m. For reservations or more information, contact the College of Business at (870) 972-3035.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 20, the College of Communications annual alumni seminar for 2008 will feature guest speaker Roy Ockert, class of 1967, editor of The Jonesboro Sun and current president of the Arkansas Press Association. The seminar will be in the A-State TV Studio, room 156 in the Communications building. At 11:30, the College of Communications annual alumni luncheon will be held, with lunch reservations available by calling the College of Communications at (870) 972-2468.

The College of Nursing and Health Professions open house and Distinguished Alumni awards will be held Saturday afternoon Sept. 20 in the CNHP building beginning at 2:30 p.m. For more information, the College of Nursing and Health Professions can be reached at (870) 972-3074.

At 3:30 p.m., the College of Agriculture tailgate party will be held in Tailgate City, west of the football stadium. All Agri alumni and their families are encouraged to attend. The College of Agriculture can be contacted at (870) 972-2085.
