ASU Homecoming events
planned by academic colleges


Oct. 1, 2007 -- The Arkansas State University Alumni Association announces a number of events for ASU's Homecoming 2007 being planned by various colleges on campus.

On Friday evening, Oct. 12, the College of Nursing and Health Professions will hold its 25th anniversary gala in the Student Union's Centennial Hall at 6 p.m. The evening will include dinner, silent auction, and music by the Flowerland Street Band as well as reflections on CNHP's 25 years. More information and reservations for the gala are available by calling CNHP at 870-972-3112.         

On Saturday, Oct. 13, the annual College of Business alumni breakfast will honor Business Executives of the Year Gov. Mike Beebe, a 1968 graduate of ASU, and local author/speaker Allyson Lewis. The breakfast will be at the Jonesboro Holiday Inn at 9 a.m.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, the College of Agriculture sponsors a petting zoo and open house at the ASU Farm, which is free and open to the public. Also at 10 a.m., the
College of Communications annual alumni seminar for 2007 will be titled, 'Celebrating 50 Years of KASU' with panelists Richard Carvell and Charles Rasberry of Jonesboro, Horace Hinshaw of Pacifica, California, and Sherry Williford of Nacogdoches, Texas. The seminar will be in the A-State TV Studio, room 156 in the Communications building. At 11:30, the College of Communications annual alumni luncheon will be held, with lunch reservations available by calling the College of Communications at 870-972-2468.


The College of Nursing and Health Professions open house and Distinguished Alumni awards will be held Saturday afternoon in the CNHP building beginning at 2:30 p.m. At 4 p.m., the College of Agriculture tailgate party will be held at the ASU Farm. Beginning at 4:45 p.m., tailgaters who park at the Farm will be taken to the Homecoming football game and picked up afterwards via hayride.
