Small Business and Technology Development Center to host seminar

May 4, 2010 -- Arkansas State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) and the Greater Blytheville Area Chamber of Commerce will jointly offer a small business seminar entitled, “Cash Flow Planning and Budgeting—Growing Your Bottom Line,” in Blytheville, Monday, May 10, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The seminar will be offered from at the Greater Blytheville Area Chamber of Commerce Conference Room.

The workshop will help small business owners get a better understanding of how to use their financial statements for good cash flow planning.

“Managing cash flow to keep a healthy bottom line is vital for any small business, especially in today’s challenging economic times,” said Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC Center Director.  “In this workshop we assist small businesses to develop simple but effective tools that they can use to manage cash flow and create good budgets to help maintain liquidity.”

Topics include understanding cash operating cycles, managing Accounts Receivable and Payables, using industry benchmark financial tools to develop realistic forecasts, and more.

The cost is $35 per person ($25 for Blytheville Chamber Members).  To register or for more information, contact the ASU Small Business Development Center at (870) 972-3517, e-mail the ASU SBTDC at or go online to register:
