Arkansas Review for August 2007
has been published

Sept. 12, 2007 -- The Department of English and Philosophy at Arkansas State University announces the publication of the August issue of “Arkansas Review: A Journal of Delta Studies.”

Edited by a committee of faculty and graduate assistants, the magazine offers an interdisciplinary Cover of August 2007 issueapproach to the seven-state Mississippi River Delta region through academic articles, interviews, fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, visual art and reviews.

In a slight departure from the past, Volume 38, No. 2 features only creative work, according to Dr. Thomas S. Williams, associate professor of English and editor of the Arkansas Review. “The cover photo and the centerpiece of the issue are from Amy Evans, who in addition to being a fine photographer and artist, is also an oral historian for the Southern Foodways Alliance.”

The fiction from Quinn Dalton and Mary Troy offers singular takes on life in Baton Rouge and St. Louis. Louis C. Bourgeois explores his haunted Louisiana in two essays, and poets Beth Gylys and Leslie St. John contribute masterfully, Williams added.

An individual copy of the August issue is $7.50. A year’s subscription (three issues) costs $20. Make checks payable to “ASU Foundation” with “Arkansas Review” on the memo line. Address to Arkansas Review, PO Box 1890, State University, AR 72467.
