16th Annual College of Agriculture
Student Leadership Conference

Sept. 18, 2007 -- The College of Agriculture at Arkansas State University will host
its annual Student Leadership Conference on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Convocation Center. The conference is designed to help the 50 participating students, returning and new, prepare to become effective leaders in their campus organizations and also to give some basic leadership skills that will help them compete in the global workforce.
     
Many ASU graduates become active in leadership positions in the community or their profession, according to College of Agriculture faculty members.

This year's conference presenters will be Dr. David Schweikhardt and Larry Zink of Michigan State University. Sach Oliver, a 2003 graduate of the College of Agriculture, who is a founding partner with the Bailey and Oliver Law Firm in Mountain Home, is the scheduled luncheon speaker.

The 16th Annual College of Agriculture Student Leadership Conference is co-sponsored by the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee, AgHeritage Farm Credit, the Craighead County Farm Bureau, Midsouth Farm Credit, E. Ritter & Company and Greenway Equipment Inc.
