ASU announces four finalists for
position of associate vice chancellor, Academic Services

ASU
has announced four finalists for the position of Associate Vice
Chancellor for Academic Services. The finalists include
Dr. Roger Abernathy, formerly
dean of the Division of Mathematics and Sciences at Orange Coast College; Dr. Felix Edoho, director and
professor of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Business Development
at Lincoln University; Dr. Michael
Prewitt, associate vice provost, University of Missouri-Columbia;
and
Dr. Donna Wood, associate vice president,
Global Business Development Center at Northwest Arkansas Community
College.
The candidates have been invited to campus for one-day interviews
scheduled for Thursday, April 2, Friday, April 3, Tuesday, April 7, and
Thursday, April 9. Dr. Felix Edoho will be
interviewed on Thursday, April 2; Dr. Roger Abernathy will be
interviewed on Thursday, April 3; Dr. Michael Prewitt will be
interviewed on Tuesday, April 7; and Dr. Donna Wood will be interviewed
on Thursday, April 9.
Dr. Glen Jones, chair of the search committee, indicated he was pleased
with the overall quality of the applicant pool and believes the four
finalists possess an array of skills that would allow them to contribute
significantly to the continuing success of Arkansas State University.
The associate vice chancellor for Academic Services serves as the
initial academic point-person for all accreditation matters involving
the university, colleges, and academic programs. Further, the position
serves as a resource for academic deans and department chairs on a wide
array of issues and topics in addition to serving as the institutional
liaison to the Higher Learning Commission.
