Information Technology Students
win national competition

April 19, 2005--Two information technology students at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro placed in the top percent of the Networking Competition at the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) national conference in Atlanta earlier this month.

Sean Corder of Smithville and Rodney Ferguson of Blytheville won third in the competition among 63 teams.

AITP is the premier organization for technology professionals and was formally known as the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA). Altogether six members of the ASU AITP team attended the event and heard speakers and presentations from such prestigious organizations as Microsoft, Wal-Mart, AmSouth Bank, and Culminis, Inc.

The other ASU students who attended the conference were: George Hannah Jr., AITP president, and Jennifer Walker, both of Jonesboro; Anita Wilson of Forrest City; and Jeff Pugh of Harrisburg. Dr. Ralph Ruby and Dr. Paula Ruby are the chapter coordinators for the ASU AITP.
