Sept. 2, 2005 -- After operating successfully in Northeast Arkansas for the past 14 years, the Arkansas Better Chance preschool program, "Program for Children and Families in the Delta," is increasing services to include three new classrooms in Jonesboro. Arkansas State University has announced the addition of an additional ABC preschool site to serve ASU students and personnel, along with surrounding areas. This is a free preschool to those who qualify. The program, which serves 3 and 4-year-old children, is staffed by highly qualified, licensed teachers and assistants. The daily schedule consists of breakfast, lunch, snack and many learning opportunities through play activity, from 7:45 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. Teachers work with small groups of children, allowing for interaction and individualized attention. The new classrooms are slated for opening Monday, Sept. 12, for the 2005-2006 school year at Grace Baptist Church, 3930 Aggie Road. Interested individuals may call 680-8268 in Jonesboro for additional information about the ABC program and eligibility. Open enrollment will continue through September. # # # |
