2010 Summer Commencement ceremony set for Friday in Convocation Center

June 30, 2010 -- Almost 500 graduates will be awarded diplomas during Arkansas State University’s 2010 summer commencement ceremony, Friday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.

Brittany Nicole Wilson of Newport, who is graduating summa cum laude and is a University Honors Scholar, is the featured commencement speaker. Wilson is graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences

Among the graduates, 261 are receiving undergraduate level degrees from 10 colleges, including: College of Agriculture and Technology (8), College of Business (49), College of Communications (11), College of Engineering (3 with students receiving two degrees each), College of Education (55), College of Fine Arts (7), College of Humanities and Social Sciences (26), College of Nursing and Health Professions (46), College of Science and Mathematics (19) and University College (37).

Receiving graduate level degrees are 226 students, including two doctorates, 14 specialist degrees, and 210 masters degrees.
