Jazzman's Cafe features student art exhibit Jazzman’s Hardwired Café recently
opened on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro featuring
coffees, drinks, sandwiches and salads, along with free Internet and
wireless access and an art exhibit that showcases the work of ASU
students. The
first exhibit titled “Glimpse” is a look at some of the
different mediums and types of work that are currently being created in
the Art Department. “Glimpse” features a variety of work that
ranges from realistic graphic design illustration to conceptual sculpture,
self-portraiture and traditional oil paintings. Students who have artwork in the
exhibition are: Amanda Burrow of Batesville, senior in graphic design;
Terri Morgan of Wynne, senior in sculpture; Teddy Wiggington of Paragould,
graduate student; Nic Bussell of Brinkley, senior in studio art; and Raven
Lennon of Trumann, recent ASU graduate. Sarah Miller of Pocahontas,
curatorial assistant for the café and ASU graduate student, organized the
exhibition. “Glimpse”
will be on exhibit through Nov. 20, with closing reception planned from
6–8 p.m. on Nov. 18 to celebrate the artists’ work.
Jazzman’s Café is located in the ASU
North Plaza at the corner of Johnson and Caraway streets. The café is
open from 7 a.m. until 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. until midnight
on Saturdays and 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Sundays. For
