Department of Music to present 
student groups in concert, Oct. 28

The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present the Chamber Winds, Brass Choir, and Tuba & Euphonium Ensemble on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center's Riceland Hall, 201 Olympic Dr.

The musical groups are under the direction of Dr. Ed Owen, assistant professor of music at ASU. Musical selections will include “Serenade No. 12 in C minor” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; “Music 4 Tubas” by John Stevens; “Canzona, La Spiritata” by Giovanni Gabrieli, arranged by Peter Rauch; “Quartet for Tubas” by Paul Holmes; “Magnificat” by C. T. Pachelbel, arranged by Arthur Frackenpohl; “Sweet Day” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, arranged by Tom O’Connor; and “The Brass Square” by Earl Zindars.

Members of the Chamber Winds include Laura Guyer of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Jessica Crociata of Tampa, Fla., oboe; Justin Crabb of Paragould and Staci Stewart of Prescott, clarinet; Brannon Brown of Cabot and Donnie Rawlings of Warren, Mo., horn; and Forrest Rodgers of Jacksonville and John Hays of Jonesboro, euphonium.

Members of the Brass Choir include Grant Harbison and Jonathan Monroe, both of Jonesboro, Kate Puckett of Wilson, and Jon Stevenson of North Little Rock, trumpet; Brannon Brown of Cabot, Lauren Gray of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Kim Brown of Forrest City, and Ashley McBride of Hardy, French horn; Lanny Heidbreder of Corning, Jason Payne of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Peter Bazzano of Germantown, Tenn., and Daniel Harrelson of Warren, trombone; Laura Garoutte of Cabot, euphonium; Katey Cravens of Jonesboro, timpani; and John Hays of Jonesboro and Jason Tacker of Wynne, tuba.

Members of the Tuba & Euphonium Ensemble include David Barrentine of Walnut Ridge, Andrew Biggs of Jonesboro, Daryol Edwards of Forrest City, Laura Garoutte of Cabot, Jennifer Hall of Tyronza, Brandon Hill of Marion, Scott Lackey of Bryant, and Forrest Rodgers of Jacksonville, euphonium; Corey Emerson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Ryan Riley of El Dorado, Lee Rushing of Marion, Adam Savage of Bryant, Jason Tacker of Wynne, Nick Garrett of Trumann, John Hays of Jonesboro, and Jeff Miller of Paragould, tuba.
