ASU-Jonesboro receives book
collection from the Koski Family

A collection of professional books was donated recently to Arkansas State University in Jonesboro by the parents of the late Douglas D. Koski, J.D., Ph.D.

Arthur E. and Sue R. Koski of Cherokee Village donated the professional library to the Department of Criminology, Sociology and Geography at ASU.

As an attorney and then as a scholar specializing in criminal justice, Doug Koski had collected more than 50 volumes, consisting of books on social work, sociology, criminal justice, and the law.

Dr. Koski was a prolific writer and was editor of several law journals. He also served as deputy director of the National Center for the Advanced Study of Social Forces, and was considered an expert in laws concerning the crime of rape. He also was editor of the book, "The Jury Trial in Criminal Justice."

After he died last year at the age of 45, his parents decided to donate his books to ASU with the hope that they would benefit ASU students who plan to pursue careers in criminal justice or law.
