Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum & Educational
Center to open new exhibit, July 25

PIGGOTT – The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center in Piggott will open an exhibit entitled Celebrating the Hemingways: Best Wishes from Piggott with a 2-4 p.m. reception on Sunday, July 25.
The exhibit catches up with the Hemingways each year on their birthdays, providing a glimpse of their nomadic lifestyle.  Emphasis is on their special ties to Piggott and their relationship with Pauline’s family.  Pauline, the daughter of Paul and Mary Pfeiffer of Piggott, was married to Ernest Hemingway from 1927 to 1940.
The exhibit consists of eight panels featuring timelines documenting the travels of Ernest and Pauline and their sons.  Photographs and excerpts from family letters at the time of their birthdays tell the story of their ties to Paul and Mary Pfeiffer and visits to Piggott.
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center includes the family home of Paul and Mary Pfeiffer and the barn-studio where Hemingway wrote during visits to Piggott.  Tours are on the hour, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.   Admission is a $5 donation, $3 for groups of 10 or more (by reservation) and senior citizens.  Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum members may visit for free.
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center is an institution of Arkansas State University.
