ASU awards 394 diplomas
at Summer Commencement Ceremony

Arkansas State University in Jonesboro awarded 394 diplomas on Friday, Aug. 6, during the Summer Commencement Ceremony in the Convocation Center.
Dr. Les Wyatt, president of ASU, presented the various diplomas.  Included in the total were seven doctoral, 11 specialist’s, 95 master's, 276 bachelor's and five associate's degrees. The class included 329 graduates from Arkansas, 21 graduates from Missouri, 30 from other states, and 14 from other countries.

During the ceremony, 40 seniors were recognized for outstanding academic achievement. Five students received special recognition for their achievements in the Honors Program. Four graduated in University Honors (UH) for having completed a minimum of 24 credit hours of Honors courses and a thesis in the major area. One graduated In Honors (H) for having completed a minimum of 18 credit hours of Honors courses.
One student graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 grade point average while 13 students graduated Magna Cum Laude with a grade point average from 3.80 to 3.99, and 21 students graduated Cum Laude with a grade point from 3.60 to 3.79.

Specialist in: Education (EDS); Community College Teaching (SCT);
Master of: Arts (MA), Business Administration (MBA), Communication Disorders (MCDS), Music (MM), Public Administration (MPA), Physical Therapy (MPT), Rehabilitation Counseling (MRC), Science (MS), Science in Agriculture (MSA), Science in Mass Communication (MSC), Science in Education (MSE), and Science in Nursing (MSN)
Bachelor of: Arts (BA), Engineering (BEN), Fine Arts (BFA), General Studies (BGS), Music (BM), Music Education (BME), Science (BS), Science in Agriculture (BSA), Science in Education (BSE), Science in Nursing (BSN), Science in Radiologic Sciences (BSRS), and Social Work (BSW).
Associate in: Applied Science (AAS), Applied Science in Nursing (AASN), General Studies (AGS), and Science (AS).
