Economic Outlook Conference will
hear keynote from Andrew Hodge

Arkansas State University's College of Business will conduct its annual Economic Outlook Conference Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Convocation Center, 217 Olympic Dr.

The Economic Outlook Conference provides area business and community leaders an opportunity to hear and discuss current economic conditions and a forecast for the year ahead, according to conference organizers.

This year’s keynote speaker, Andrew Hodge, leads the U.S. and Canadian Forecast Groups for Global Insight, known formerly as DRI-WEFA. In addition to his responsibilities with Global Insight, he also serves on the Time Magazine Board of Economists; is past governor of Money Marketers of New York; past president of the International Economists of New York.

He also is a regular contributor to CNBC, CNN, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Le Monde, and other media.

Dr. John Shelnutt, senior research economist and director of research with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Institute for Economic Advancement will discuss the state’s economy and provide an outlook on the coming year.

Mark Young, executive director of the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, will make a presentation on the regional economy.

The luncheon speaker, Jeff Hankins, president and publisher of Arkansas Business Publishing Group in Little Rock, will provide perspective on Arkansas politics and business.

Conference sponsors include Regions Bank and the ASU College of Business McAdams-Frierson Chair of Bank Management.

Interested persons should contact Kimberly Stepp, ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, 910-8180, to register. Fees are $50 per person, or $25 for ASU students and faculty. Those attending may use the lower red entrance to the Convocation Center for access to the meeting areas.
