The Bradbury Gallery in the Fowler Center at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro announces the opening of the summer exhibition From Abstraction to Minimalism.

There are 60 works featured on paper by 47 artists. The exhibition reveals the range of non-representational art found in the Arkansas Arts Center Foundation Collection.

Included are works by nationally and internationally known artists such as Arthur Dove, David Smith, Seymour Lipton, Buzz Spector, Elizabeth Murray
and many others.  These artists explore the elements of art, such as line, shape and color, creating “art for art’s sake” in its purest form. The works in the exhibit were created from 1940 through 1998 representing movements such as cubism, abstract expressionism and minimalism.

The exhibition opens on Wednesday, June 2, and continues through July 25.  Summer gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The exhibition is admission-free and open to the public.

For additional information, please contact the Bradbury Gallery at 870-910-8115.
