December issue of "Arkansas
Review" published

Arkansas Review December CoverDec. 14, 2004--The Department of English and Philosophy at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro announces the publication of the December issue of “Arkansas Review: A Journal of Delta Studies.”

Edited by a committee of faculty and graduate assistants, the magazine offers an interdisciplinary approach to the seven-state Mississippi River Delta region through academic articles, interviews, fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, visual art, and book reviews.

This is the third and final issue of Volume 35 and features a stunning cover and art page section, provided by ASU art professor Roger Carlisle. Fiction and poetry appears by such notables as James Nolan, Greg Fraser and Darlin’ Neal. Also appearing is the first in a series of interviews with regional booksellers, the first bookseller being Corey Mesler, owner of Burke’s Books in Memphis.

Members of the ASU community who have contributed to this issue of the journal include Michael B. Spikes, and book reviewers Cherisse Jones and ASU alumna Angela Williams.

Copies are available for purchase at Hastings, Books, Music and More in Jonesboro and at That Bookstore in Blytheville.

The cost for the December issue is $7.50. A year’s subscription (three issues) is $20. Make checks payable to “ASU Foundation” with “Arkansas Review” on the memo line. Address to Arkansas Review, P.O. Box 1890, State University, AR 72467.
