Wind Ensemble Concert
set for Tuesday, Feb. 18


The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present the Wind Ensemble in concert Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 7:30 p.m., in Riceland Hall at Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive. The ensemble is under the direction of Ed Alexander, director of bands.

Musical selections for this concert will include "March from Symphonic Metamorphosis," by Paul Hindemith; "William Byrde Suite, Nos. 1, 5 and 6," by Gordon Jacob; "Symphony No. 3 Finale," by Gustav Mahler, arranged by Reynolds; "Cloudburst," by Eric Whitacre; and "Symphony No. 1, Earth," by Phillip Sparke.

Members of the Wind Ensemble include Rose Degrandchamp of Searcy, Whitney Farris and Shelley Lunbeck, both of Jonesboro, Tina Glover of Piggott, Candice Harrison of Bryant, flute; Amy Dunivan of Jonesboro and Jessica Crociata of Tampa, Fla., oboe; Emily Stevens of Tupelo, Miss., English horn; Alyssa Johnson of Bryant and Mike Scott of Jonesboro, bassoon; Jodie Atchison of Bald Knob, Tonya Butcher of Batesville, Tara Hooker of Trumann, Jeaney Morrison of Derry, N.H., Ashlea Rudder of Jonesboro and Staci Stewart of Prescott, clarinet; Misti Cook of Russellville and Angela Kimsey of Mount Ida, bass clarinet; Jonathan Fulkerson of Paragould, Allene Kirk of Imboden and Jonathan Rohner of Bono, alto saxophone; Drew Breckinridge of Newport, tenor saxophone; Shane Hill of Halls, Tenn., baritone saxophone;

Peter Davis of Jonesboro, Jimmy Gazaway, Vanessa Johns and Sherri Fincher, all of Paragould, and Grant Garland and Sara Garland, both of Corning, trumpet; Nicolae Balu and Meridith Shatley, both of Jonesboro, Kim Brown of Forrest City, Greg Osborne of Newport, and Elizabeth Sullivan of Sherwood, French horn; Peter Bazzano of Germantown, Tenn., Daniel Harrelson of Warren, Lanny Heidbreder of Corning, Celia King of Benton, and Corey Spencer of Wynne, trombone;

Andrew Biggs and Daryol Edwards, both of Jonesboro, and Forrest Rodgers of Jacksonville, euphonium; Corey Emerson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Justin Lowe of Highland, and Jason Tacker of Wynne, tuba; Tina Gragg and Ben White, both of Jonesboro, Russell Niemeyer of Prescott, Carl Roberts of Forrest City, and Blake Vickers of Cabot, percussion.
