Symphonic Band to perform
Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Fowler Center


The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present the Symphonic Band in concert, Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center’s Riceland Hall, 201 Olympic Drive. The ensemble is conducted by Dr. Kenneth Carroll.

The program for the concert will include "Festival in Russia" by Don Wilcox, arranged by Liadov; "October" by Eric Whitacre; "Courtly Airs and Dances" by Ron Nelson; "On A Hymnsong of Philip Bliss" by David Holsinger; and "Vesuvius" by Frank Ticheli.

Personnel for group include Tara Skinner of Daytona Beach, Fla., Amanda Hayes of Jonesboro, Sarah Mitchell of Sherwood, Lindsay Krantz of Cotter and Devita Parks of Blytheville, flute; Damian Sanchez of Miami, Fla., oboe; Miguel Picanco of Bono, bassoon; Joe Deaton of Kaiser, Brett Williams and Will Hartzel, both of Forrest City, Tom Akins of Jonesboro, Chad Mary of Roland, Luke Walker of Pocahontas, Max Rand and Jeremy Rawls, both of Paragould, Russell Page of Trumann, Melinda Hutchison of Highland and Matt Gipson of Bono, trumpet;
