Pride Day 2003 set for Thursday, Feb. 20 The Arkansas State University Spirit Club and Student Activities Board will sponsor Pride Day 2003 Thursday, Feb. 20. Activities are planned throughout the day, and everyone is encouraged to wear their scarlet and black. Offices around campus who want to participate in the Office Decoration Contest may pick up "spirit kits" Monday, Feb. 10, in the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership. Judging for the office decoration contest will begin at 9 a.m. on the 20th. The SAB and Student Government Association will sponsor "pride stations" in the Library, Reng Student Services Center, the Administration or Chickasaw buildings between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20. ASU spirit items will be available at each station, and recipients are encouraged to wear their spirit items on Thursday. A Pride Day Awards Reception will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Reng Center Ballroom. Sach Oliver, SGA president, will read a proclamation from Gov. Mike Huckabee declaring it ASU Pride Day. Three awards, the Princess, Brave and Chief Big Track Awards, will be presented. A dessert buffet will be served. For more information contact the Student Activities Board, 870-972-2055. # # # |
