Miller Orchestra set to perform Sunday, Feb. 23, at Fowler Center Downloadable Image The Glenn Miller Orchestra is the next ensemble to perform in the Fowler Center Series at Arkansas State University. The group will perform Sunday, Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall at Fowler Center, located at 201 Olympic Drive. This is part of the Riceland Distinguished Performance Series. Always a favorite with audiences, the Glenn Miller Orchestra has carried on the exciting and entertaining tradition set forth by it’s namesake more than 55 years ago. Miller brought us famous tunes such as "Rainbow Rhapsody," "The White Cliffs of Dover" and "Everybody Loves My Baby." The orchestra has performed in all 50 states, as well as throughout Europe, Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, Guam, the Philippines, South and Central America. The "Road Book" carried by the Glenn Miller Orchestra adds up to more than 300 charts. Today their complete library totals more than 1,700 compositions including all of the original charts from the civilian and Army Air Force Band. Tickets prices for the event are $18 and $14 for adults, $13 and $10 for faculty and staff, and $12 and $9 for students. Tickets are available at the Central Box Office, located at the red entrance of the Convocation Center. The Camerata Sweden Chamber Orchestra is the next performance group scheduled to perform on Tuesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. For more information on upcoming events contact Fowler Center, 870-910-8115, or fowlercenter@astate.edu. # # # |
