The Fowler Center on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro announces the 2003-04 season with eight performances, beginning in September and ending in April. All shows and concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

The season opens on Saturday, Sept. 27, with Maynard Ferguson and his Big Bop Nouveau Band. Ferguson is known as one of the world’s greatest “scream” trumpeters. His band has been called “the premier jazz big band on the road today.”

Club Swing, starring Five by Design, celebrates the swing movement from 1937-1955 with a show on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The Vienna Choir Boys, originally founded in 1498, will perform in concert on Sunday, Nov. 16. The touring choir features singers from ages 10 to 14.

The Duttons Christmas Show, complete with bluegrass, country, classical, gospel, folk, and rock and roll, will be Tuesday, Dec. 16.

The Memphis Symphony Orchestra will perform on Friday, Feb. 13, with a special Valentine’s Day concert.

On Tuesday, March 2, Tony Kenny’s Ireland will perform with his Dublin City Dancers. Then on Tuesday, March 23, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra travels to Jonesboro with a concert of classical works and American tunes.

The season ends with “Rhythm and Brass” on Saturday, April 3. Rhythm and Brass is an American quintet group of two trumpets, a French horn, a trombone, and a percussionist.

Individual tickets (for each concert) are: $20 and $25 for adults, $14 and $18 for seniors and students, and $6 and $9 for ASU students.
