Lecture~Concert Series presents flute and harp duo: Capriccio Downloadable Image Capriccio, a flute and harp duo, will give the next presentation in the Lecture~Concert Series at Arkansas State University. The artists will perform in the Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center on Caraway Road on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Award-winning flutist Donna Milanovich and internationally acclaimed harpist Stephen Hartman make up Capriccio. They began performing together as a duo after collaborating as members of the Warner Brothers Symphony Orchestra. Separately, Milanovich and Hartman stay busy teaching and performing in orchestras, and each of them performs in other chamber ensembles. While they have other recordings to their credit, Milanovich and Hartman released their premier Capriccio compact disc last fall. One concert reviewer said, "Capriccio was stunning in its beauty and perfect meld of tone colors . . . ravishing, a gem . . . I would describe the entire concert that way." Milanovich made her New York debut at Weil Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall as a winner of the Artist International Music Award. She is on the faculty of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Hartman has served on the faculty of DePaul University, and currently operates a private studio. He has played with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and he also performs in the harp duo of Tick Tock. The program they will present at ASU ranges widely from J.S. Bach through Mozart and Bizet, to Ravel and Nino Rota (who wrote operas and ballets but who is probably best known for his film music). # # # |
