Wind Ensemble Concert
to be held Sunday, April 14



The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present a Wind Ensemble concert Sunday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall at Fowler Center, located on Olympic Drive. The ensemble is under the direction of Ed Alexander, director of bands.

The program will consist of "Handel in the Strand" by Percy Grainger; "Dance Movements" by Philip Sparke; the world premiere of "Eleven" by Tim Crist; "God of Our Fathers" by Claude T. Smith; and "The Hounds of Spring" by Alfred Reed. Guest musician Joe Bonner will accompany the ensemble on Christ’s piece, and "God of our Fathers" will be dedicated to the memory of long-time ASU Director of Bands, Don Minx.

Personnel for this group include Shelly Lunbeck and Whitney Farris of Jonesboro, Tina Glover of Piggott, Candice Harrison of Bryant and Angie Hewitt of Benton, flute; Shandee Dillon of Jacksonville, Miguel Picano of Jonesboro, oboe; Lakisha Allen of Forrest City, Tonya Butcher of Batesville, Tara Hooker of Trumann, Jeany Morrison of Derry, N.H., B.J. Picano of Bono, Ashlea Rudder of Jonesboro and Jessica Spooner of Paragould, clarinet; Sereatha Sullivan of Jonesboro, bass clarinet; Nicole Carroll of Bryant and Mike Scott of Jonesboro, bassoon;

Laurie Kinder of Salem and David Robinson of Newport, alto saxophone; Johnathan Ronher of Bono, tenor saxophone; Shane Hill of Halls, Tenn., baritone saxophone; Peter Davis of Jonesboro, Joe Deaton of Kaiser, Grant Garland, Sarah Garland of Heber Springs, Jimmy Gazaway of Paragould and Angela Sutherland of Piggott, trumpet; Nicolae Balu of Romania, Elizabeth Sullivan and Rhonda Herring of Sherwood and Greg Osbourne of Jonesboro, French horn;
