11, 2001 Trombone Choir will perform Monday, April 23 The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present a concert by the Trombone Choir on Monday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m., in the Convocation Center Auditorium. The ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Neale Bartee. The program for the concert will include "Sundances" by Gay Holmes Spears; "Engage for 12 Trombones" by Dr. Timothy Crist; "How Firm a Foundation" arranged by Bartee; "Back Country Landscape" by Wayne Harrison; and "Champions Rock" arranged by Bartee. Crist, associate professor of music at ASU, wrote "Engage for 12 Trombones" for the ensemble to perform at the 2001 International Trombone Festival. Personnel for the Trombone Choir includes Brice Evans of Bald Knob; Celia King of Benton; Jeremy Culbreath, Tony Mirabella, both of Brinkley; Landon Heidbreder of Corning; Margo Lusk of Highland; Robby Bennett, Russell Dupwe, James Halbrook, Justin Hall, Stan Hall, Travis Kimberling, Matt Strawbridge, all of Jonesboro; Tom Mason of Manila; Patrick Barger of Paragould; Chris Davis, Brian Sutton, both of West Memphis; and Cory Spencer of Wynne. Accompanying the choir will be David Robinson of Newport, piano; Grant Garland of Corning, guitar; David South of Jonesboro, bass; and Mike Duncan of Marion, drums.
