14, 2001 Tribe Jazz Band Concert set for Tuesday, Nov. 27 The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present the Tribe in concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Riceland Hall at Fowler Center, located at 201 Olympic Drive. The Tribe is under the direction of Ed Alexander, interim director of bands. Musical selections for this concert will include "I Remember Clifford" by Benny Golson, arranged by Quincy Jones; "Indian Lady" by Don Ellis; "Hogwart Stomp" by Robert Woods; "Afterburner" by Mark Taylor; "Naima" by John Coltrane, arranged by Manny Mendelson; and "Back Bone" by Thad Jones. Tribe members include Larie Kinder of Salem, David Robinson of Newport, alto saxophone; Damian Sanchez of Miami, Fla., Jonathan Rohner of Bono, tenor saxophone; Shane Hill of Halls, Tenn., baritone saxophone; Peter Davis, David Stone, both of Jonesboro, Joe Deaton of Keiser, Grant Garland of Heber Springs, Jimmy Gazaway of Paragould, trumpet; Patrick Barger of Paragould, Landon Heidbreder of Corning, Corey Spencer of Wynne, Matt Strawbridge of Jonesboro, trombone; Roby Johnson of East Prairie, Mo., piano; Corey Emerson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., bass; Mike Duncan of Marion, Ben White of Jonesboro, percussion; and Vic Swain of Paragould, guitar.
