ASU Tribe to perform
Thursday, Oct. 10 at Fowler Center



The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present the Tribe in concert Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m., in Riceland Hall at Fowler Center, located at 201 Olympic Drive.

The Tribe is under the direction of Ed Alexander, director of bands.

Musical selections for this concert will include "One O’Clock Jump" by Count Basie, arranged by Bob Mintzer; "The Sleaze Factor" by Randy Brecker, arranged by Mike Crotty; "Some Skunk Funk" by Randy Brecker, arranged by Mark Taylor; "Belly Roll" by Quincy Jones, arranged by Sammy Nestico; "Well, You Needn’t" by Thelonius Monk, arranged by Mark Taylor; "Sidewinder" by Lee Morgan; and "Caravan" by Duke Ellington.

Members of the Tribe include Jonathan Rohner of Bono and Amy Dunivan of Jonesboro, alto saxophone; Damien Sanchez of Miami, Fla., and Drew Breckinridge of Newport, tenor saxophone; Shane Hill of Halls, Tenn., baritone saxophone; Grant Garland of Corning, Sheri Fincher of Paragould, Angela Sutherland of Piggott, David Stone of Jonesboro and Will Hartzell of Forrest City, trumpet; Lannie Heidbreder of Corning, Matt Strawbridge of Jonesboro, Daniel Harrelson of Warren and Corey Spencer of Wynne, trombone; David Butler of Jonesboro, piano; Max Rand of Paragould, guitar; Ben White of Jonesboro and Carl Roberts of Forrest City, drums; and Corey Emerson of Poplar Bluff, bass.
