ASU Department of Theatre to present Blackbox Theater comedy The Arkansas State University Department of Theatre will present "Lend Me A Tenor" Wednesday, Nov. 14, through Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. each evening in the Blackbox Theater in Fowler Center, located at 201 Olympic Drive. "Lend Me A Tenor" is a farcical comedy by Ken Ludwig,. Through a series of mishaps, the great tenor Morelli, "Il Stupendo," is given an overdose of stimulants and is unable to perform the famous opera "Otello." Max, an aspiring singer, becomes a tenor on loan. Tito revives, and now there are two Otellos pursued by two amorous ladies in lingerie. Cast members include Jared Gann, Brittany Hillyer, Brandi Jones and Sheridan Essman, all of Jonesboro; Stephanie Schmidt of Wynne; Brent Bufford of Heber Springs; Dustin Brown of Little Rock; and Davie Watkins of Omaha, Neb. This production is student produced under the direction of senior theatre students including Michael Miles, stage direction; Phillip Bryan, costume design; and Jason Henson, scenic & lighting design. The production is stage managed by Jeff Hamm of Cabot, and the production crew includes Mandy Posey and Kimberley Haley-Lee of Jonesboro; Victoria McCrackin and Shawna Hart, both of Paragould; Kevin Spangler of Hot Springs; and Rachel Redican of Conway. The audience will be seated in the thrust configuration in the Blackbox Theater with limited seats available. For ticket information call 870-972-2781. Audience members are asked to arrive early because latecomers will not be seated until intermission. Children under six will not be admitted, the play is suitable for mature audiences only. # # # |
