Symphonic
Band Concert to be held Tuesday, April 9 The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present a Symphonic Band concert Tuesday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall at Fowler Center, located on Olympic Drive. The Symphonic Band is under the direction of Ed Alexander, director of bands. The program will consist of "Suite Provencale" by Jan Van der Roost; "Masque" by Frances McBeth; "Alleluia! Laudamus Te" by Alfred Reed; "An American Elegy" by Frank Tichelli; and "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Elliot Del Borgo. Rhonda Herring, a graduate assistant, will be a guest conductor. Members of the group include Christina Drennen of Eads, Tenn., Lindsay Krantz of Cotter, Davita Parks of Blytheville, Amanda Suel of North Little Rock and Skye Williams of Hensley, flute; Matt Howard of Hope and Damian Sanchez of Miami, Fla., oboe; R.J. Penn of Benton, bassoon; Jodi Atchison of Bald Knob, Heather Laseter of Blytheville, Ana Pitt of West Memphis, Jonathan Rohner of Bono, Paul Shafer of Monticello, Casey Stafford of Memphis, Tenn., and Lynn Westcott of Marion, clarinet; Sereatha Sullivan of Jonesboro, bass clarinet; Jon Barnett of Jonesboro, Ian Buchanan of Brinkley, Brandon Freeman of Dermott, Jonathan Fulkerson of Paragould, Allene Kirk of Ravenden and Bo Pullium of Jonesboro, alto saxophone; Drew Breckinridge of Paragould and Tim Miller of Corning, tenor saxophone; Beverly Boyles of Newport, baritone saxophone; Matt Gipson, Jeremy House, of Jonesboro, Chad Mary of Roland, Jeremy Rawls of Paragould, Luke Walker of Pocahontas and Brett Williams of Forrest City, trumpet; Caycee Hennan of Quanah, Texas, Ashley McBryde of Oxford, Miss., Claire Oliver of Prairie, Mo., Elizabeth Sullivan of Sherwood and DeWayne Williams of Poplar Bluff, French horns; Dedric Hardy of Hernando, Miss., Preston Hines of Bono, Eric Palmer Bald Knob, Fais Paxton of Jonesboro and Ben Wainscott of Cordova, Tenn., trombone; Jessica Westcott of Marion, Terry Burgess of Tumann and Nick Yeilding of Cabot, baritone; Randy Anis of Paragould, Corey Emerson of Poplar Bluff, Nick Garrett of Trumann, Adam Savage of Mabelvale, Rusty Shields of Osceola and Marshall Sutterfield of Cabot, tuba; Billy Allen of Wynne, Ralo Brown of Dumas, Brian Hill, Ben Pruett, Erik Johansen and Jessica Vick, all of Jonesboro, percussion.
