Symphonic Band Concert
to be held Tuesday, April 9



The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present a Symphonic Band concert Tuesday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall at Fowler Center, located on Olympic Drive. The Symphonic Band is under the direction of Ed Alexander, director of bands.

The program will consist of "Suite Provencale" by Jan Van der Roost; "Masque" by Frances McBeth; "Alleluia! Laudamus Te" by Alfred Reed; "An American Elegy" by Frank Tichelli; and "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Elliot Del Borgo. Rhonda Herring, a graduate assistant, will be a guest conductor.

Members of the group include Christina Drennen of Eads, Tenn., Lindsay Krantz of Cotter, Davita Parks of Blytheville, Amanda Suel of North Little Rock and Skye Williams of Hensley, flute; Matt Howard of Hope and Damian Sanchez of Miami, Fla., oboe; R.J. Penn of Benton, bassoon; Jodi Atchison of Bald Knob, Heather Laseter of Blytheville, Ana Pitt of West Memphis, Jonathan Rohner of Bono, Paul Shafer of Monticello, Casey Stafford of Memphis, Tenn., and Lynn Westcott of Marion, clarinet; Sereatha Sullivan of Jonesboro, bass clarinet;
