18, 2001 Bradbury Gallery to host selections from Permanent Collection Selections from Arkansas State University’s Permanent Collection will be on display at the Bradbury Gallery in Fowler Center through Friday, August 31. Most of the 54 pieces seen in the gallery are large prints made by contemporary artists. The exhibit represents a portion of the Stephens Collection which was given to ASU in the early 1980s by the Stephens Corporation, a Little Rock investment firm. Prints purchased from the Delta National Small Prints exhibition will be located in the back section of the gallery. The DNSP is a competition held annually in the Fine Arts Center Gallery, but beginning this fall the DNSP collection will be shown in the Bradbury Gallery. The exhibition illustrates the diversity of prints in the university’s collection, and chronologically they range from the fifteenth through twentieth centuries. Etchings, engravings, lithography, silkscreen, mixed media monoprints, woodcuts and works made using other printmaking processes are displayed in the gallery. A variety of styles are represented in works by well known artists, aspiring artists and student artists. The Bradbury Gallery is open from noon until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday; and from 2 until 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free. # # # |
