ASU presents ‘Resonant Elements,’
percussion clinic, concert on Oct. 17

The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present "Resonant Elements," a percussion duo from Scott Air Force Base, on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall, located on Caraway Road.

The concert will consist of serious percussion music, ragtime music and rudimental drumming.

Area students are invited to participate in percussion clinics on Thursday prior to the concert. Clinics are scheduled for 11 a.m. in the Minx Rehearsal Hall and at 4:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall.

Jonesboro native Jarrett Robinett, a percussionist and ASU graduate, will be performing with the Percussion Ensemble. Also joining the group will be Trumann native James Martin, also an ASU alumnus. Martin formerly served with the Old Guard in Washington, D.C., and currently is a band director at Marion Junior High School.

The public is invited to this free event. All students grade school through high school are welcome.

For more information, contact Craig Collison, assistant professor of percussion at Arkansas State University, at 870-972-2094.
