College of Nursing and Health Professions
recognizes outstanding graduating students


The College of Nursing and Health Professions at Arkansas State University recognized its outstanding graduating students during its annual Convocation of Scholars honors program, according to Dr. Susan Hanrahan, dean of the college.

Students were selected by faculty in the individual degree programs to receive the award for outstanding achievement and service to their departments.

Award winners from the Department of Health Professions and their respective degree programs were:

Travis Sanders of Hayti, Mo., bachelor of science in clinical laboratory science; Charity Martin of Batesville, Gretchen Kaufman of McGehee and Tiffany Ryan of Thomasville, Mo., bachelor of science in communication disorders; Rebecca Orr of Tuckerman, master of communication disorders; Tamara Futrell of Little Rock, bachelor of science in radiologic sciences; Amy Sherrill of Batesville, bachelor of science in radiation therapy; Misty Kaufman of Portageville, Mo., associate in applied science in physical therapist assistant; Jodie Honeycutt of Myrtle, Mo., and Michael Martin of Newark, master of physical therapy; Kara Ussery of Paragould, associate in applied science in radiologic technology.

Award winners in the Department of Nursing were: Holly Tyler of Pocahontas, bachelor of science in nursing; Anita Garrison of Memphis, Deloris Allen of Memphis, and Heidi Cohn of Jonesboro, master of science in nursing; and Diane Andrews of Brookland, associate in applied science in nursing.

In addition, Rebecca Pritchard of Cabot and Tonya King of Mountain Home were named outstanding students (respectively) in the associate in nursing degree programs offered at ASU-Beebe and at Ozarka Technical College.
