International Week will be
observed at Arkansas State

The International Student Association at Arkansas State University will sponsor activities as part of International Week Monday, April 2, through Friday, April 6. The theme for this year’s event is "Experience the Diversity Around You."

Various events and activities will take place throughout the week, and the Jonesboro community and public are invited to attend. Two highlights each year include International Culture Night and the International Food Festival. Because response is so great for the food festival, guests other than ASU students are asked to pay $5 to cover costs. All other events are free.

International Culture Night will be Monday, April 2, in the Reng Center Ballroom. The event will begin at 7 p.m., and will feature traditional music, dances, and a fashion show with students representing a large number of cultures present on campus. A reception will immediately follow.

Tuesday, April 3, is International Movie Night. The movie will be shown at 7:30 p.m., in the Museum Auditorium Room 182.

The food festival is set for Wednesday, April 4, at 6 p.m., at the Pavilion. Students will cook traditional dishes from their home country. Experience the flavors of South America, Mexico, France, India, Persia, Thailand and China, just to name a few.

Fun activities are slated for Thursday, April 5, at the Health, Physical Education and Sport Sciences building. The event will begin at 4 p.m., and will include volleyball, basketball, indoor soccer, and other games.

An International Dance will be Friday, April 6, at 8 p.m., at the Pavilion. The dance party will include popular dance music from around the world. Refreshments will be served.
